Curriculum Clean Out: Super Science

I am participating in the Curriculum Clean Out hosted by Homeschool Creations.

Photobucket

I have a lot of curriculum books left from when I was a classroom teacher that I need to go through but can't seem to find the time. Here is one that I have found:

Super Science with Simple Stuff! Activities for the Intermediate Grades (3-6) Amazon sells this book new for $28.50. You can check out pictures, descriptions, and reviews there.

A description from the book:

"...110 easy-to-do, hands-on activities make use of everday materials. Among the physical science topics covered are motion, heat, electricity, magnetism, sound, light, and chemistry."

Some highlights of Super Science with Simple Stuff include:

1. "Students follow the scientific method in a friendly way through engaging activities that use simple materials- stuff that might otherwise be thrown away.
2. "Each activity has one student worksheet blackline mater and one page of teacher notes explaining the scientific principles underlying the activity and offering guidance."
3 "Chapter openers provide an overview of the basic scientific concepts presented in the activities."

If you would like a chance to win this giveaway leave a comment telling me why you would like to win Super Science.

We have a lot of science equipment (ex. sand, microscope, thermometers...) the list goes on. Now we just need an activity book to add to it.

I would love this. I am always trying to fit a science experiment into our lessons but never really have the right stuff for the ones in the curriculum.

My girls are in 'grades' 3 & 5, and science is the one subject that always seems to get pushed to the side; I think finding something simple and easy to use might be just the thing we need to be sure this is included in our studies on a more regular basis! Thanks for including me in the drawing.
